Choose the product category and pick an item to see a detailed view. If you see the item with a French name at the market — just switch the listing to French!
If you need a spice or herb and want to know the name in French just choose English and use the convenient scrolling wheel to find the spice and its French name. Nice at the market. Great at the supermarket!
Markets
With Navigating French Markets v2.0 we've added the ability to get walking (or driving) directions via the Apple Maps program already on your iPhone® or iPad®.
This does require you to have mobile (cellular) data enabled. If you are visiting France you may not want to turn on roaming and/or mobile data due to the expense. You will need to decide this depending on your service provider's rates and policies. If you are living here you probably have a French phone contract and may have mobile data enabled. Remember that it will use a portion of your monthly data allocation — just like when you surf the web while walking around Paris!

v2.0 of NavigatingFrench Markets has been designed for iOS 10.0 and above. That means the 4S and older phones are not able to run this app. This choice was made to allow newer features such as "Directions via Apple Maps" to be included.
You will need an iPhone 5SE, 6, 7 or later. iPads supported include the Air, Air2, AirPro and later models.
We are also discontinuing the availability of the app on Android™ devices. Since the original app was introduced in 2012 there has been virtually no demand for it in the Google Play Store™. App development for a specific operating system can take a great deal of time and this change will allow us to focus on additional improvements to the iPhone app!
